New Partner Announcement – Alec du Maurier

Alec started with the firm in early 2017. From the outset, Alec has shown strong determination to work hard and continually develop as a legal practitioner. Over the years, this has translated into a broad and diverse professional background, including his experience working as tipstaff to Justice Rein in the Supreme Court of NSW in 2021/2022. Upon his return to Watson Webb, Alec has quickly ascended with his high-quality work and sharp strategic thinking.

Through his work on a wide range of matters, he has gained experience across a multitude of areas of law and has developed particular interest and specialisation in commercial disputes and litigation, more specifically in insolvency, corporate and commercial advisory, employment disputes and advice, and contested estates.

Alec’s practice has been shaped over the years through a variety of successful matters over which he had day-to-day carriage, including in proceedings in Courts and Tribunals in New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria, the Australian Capital Territory and Western Australia.

What stands out just as much as Alec’s achievements is the way he goes above and beyond each and every day, supporting those around him and inspiring our team to pursue high standards. Together with his commitment to his professional development, these qualities have contributed to his progression through our Path to Partnership program.

Alec is grateful to the firm and to the many colleagues, clients and counsel who have played a role in his professional development and looks forward to strengthening those relationships as he enters this next stage of his career.
